Congratulations Cameron Miles and MMTH!
A huge congratulations to our friend Cameron Miles and his organization Mentoring Male Teens in the Hood on winning the Baltimore Ravens Community Quarterback Award!
Cameron has worked tirelessly for years serving the community of Baltimore. Here’s what the Ravens said about Cameron and MMTH:
The Mentoring Male Teens in the Hood program provides group mentoring services to young men ages 8-18 living in the Baltimore metropolitan area. The goals of the program include building positive attitudes, reinforcing the importance of education, teaching etiquette and deterring participants from addictive substances. Since founding the program in 1996, Miles has expanded the program’s reach from just five to over 3,000 young men during his tenure as director. The program meets two Saturdays per month in the New Shiloh Family Life Center in west Baltimore City. On one Saturday, tutoring in math and reading is provided, and on the other, a guest speaker will lecture. In addition, Miles plans many cultural enrichment trips for the group, including an annual visit to the Maryland Shock Trauma facility, so that young men can see first-hand the effects of gun violence. For over 19 years, Miles has demonstrated his strong commitment to young men by operating this program as a volunteer. Read more about the award here.
