Warnken, LLC Helps Secure Med Mal Award
Byron L. Warnken, Esq. and James Nichols, Esq. served as counsel in the post-trial motions for Maryland’s largest ever medical malpractice verdict. This week the Honorable Marcus Shar in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, ruled largely in favor of the plaintiffs in Enzo Martinez, et al vs. Johns Hopkins Hospital, et al. The jury’s verdict was reduced to Maryland’s non-economic damages cap of $680,000. (The cap varies by year of the injury.) The vast majority of all other awards remained in place. Even the reduced award remains among the largest medical malpractice cases in Maryland history.
