Warnken, LLC was just voted best personal injury law firm in Maryland. We were voted the best by readers of the Daily Record, Maryland’s oldest active legal newspaper. It’s a publication that a lot of lawyers in Maryland read regularly.
What an honor! We are humbled by this recognition.
This is Part I of why we think we were voted the best personal injury law firm in Maryland.
Part I – History of Warnken, LLC
Warnken, LLC’s journey to being voted best personal injury law firm began 30 years ago. That’s when Bonnie L. and Byron L. Warnken founded the firm. At first, Warnken, LLC was centered around plaintiffs’ medical malpractice and appellate litigation. With a long background as a nurse, Bonnie handled the plaintiffs’ med mal. As a full-time tenured law professor with a reputation as the smartest guy in the room, Byron handled the appeals practice. In all, Warnken, Sr. was counsel on some 200 appeals.
In 1998, Warnken, LLC became general counsel to the Maryland Troopers Association (MTA), a contract we still have today. Law enforcement representation became another focus.
In 2010, attorney Byron B. Warnken joined the firm. From that point forward, Warnken, LLC started down the path that has now produced the title best personal injury law firm. We continued to represent the MTA. However, the firm drastically reduced, then cut out appeals, general litigation, and nearly all criminal cases to truly focus on representing the injured. Initially, we had a heavy workers’ comp practice, born out of our experience representing law enforcement.
At the end of 2014, the younger Warnken bought the firm from his parents. He also began investing heavily. The investment was not just in finding deserving clients, but in truly building out an infrastructure for excellence. First and foremost, this meant finding the best people to represent the injured. Every lawyer, paralegal, and staff member was hired and developed with this goal in mind. Our team is our strength. Our team is why we are successful.
In the intervening years, we’ve built our injury law firm around staffing each case with the right lawyers – both from in and outside our firm. We’ve added capability, strength, and results in auto and truck crash cases and premises liability cases. We’ve also renewed our success from 25 years ago in medical malpractice.
And let us be clear about the meaning of personal injury law firm – WE ONLY REPRESENT THE INJURED. We only represent individuals. We never represent insurance companies or businesses. We take great pride in fighting for people, one person at a time.
