Jim Lanier

Jim Lanier is a personal injury and workers’ compensation lawyer with Warnken, LLC. He is a partner with the firm. His practice focuses on workers’ comp claims, serious workplace injuries, and personal injury cases. He has advocated for his clients at all levels of the Maryland federal and state judicial systems.
Background
Mr. Lanier received his law degree from the University of Baltimore in 1997 and his undergraduate degree from Towson University, having also attended Loyola Marymount University. He is licensed in the Maryland State and Federal Bars.
Experienced Workers’ Compensation Attorney
Jim has previously been recognized for being a top workers’ compensation attorney in Maryland. Jim spent years handling workers’ compensation defense at a large Baltimore defense firm, before spending 12 years as the attorney in charge of the workers’ compensation practice at another Baltimore personal injury firm.
Mr. Lanier is a member of the Maryland Association for Justice (MAJ) and is a past Co-Chair of the workers’ compensation section. In addition to the MAJ, he is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) and is on the Council for the Negligence, Insurance & Workers’ Compensation Section and is a member of the Peer Review Committee for the Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland. He is also a member of the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG), the St. Thomas More Society of Maryland, and the Carroll County Bar Association. He has written legal articles on various topics, mostly involving Maryland workers’ compensation law. He has organized and/or spoke at workers’ compensation panel discussions for the MSBA’s Negligence, Insurance, and Workers’ Compensation Section, the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Education Association (MWCEA), and the MAJ. Mr. Lanier is married with four children and is involved as a leader and trainer with the Baltimore Council of the Boy Scouts of America and as a leader with the American Heritage Girls.
