Background

Candice has lived in Maryland for most of her life, specifically the Baltimore county area. She went to Stevenson University and majored in legal studies, and then immediately started working in the law field. 

Candice has always known that she wanted to go into the field of law. In elementary school she dressed up as a lawyer for career day with a briefcase and name tag (CCY, Attorney at Law) in tow, and ever since then she knew she wanted to be involved in the legal field. She didn’t necessarily think that being an attorney was what she wanted, but something in that spectrum. She has considered being a mediator, and still might pursue that, but for now she is happy knowing that everyday she’s helping her clients and securing results.

That is the most enjoyable part of Candice’s job, being there for the clients, whether they need advice, or just someone to listen. She is always willing to help, and will go the extra mile for her clients, no matter what it takes.

Working At Warnken

Communicating with the clients fills up the majority of Candice’s day. Answering phone calls, following up on medical record requests, and updating the status of claims are some of the tasks on a typical work day for Candice. She works on pre-litigation, so she builds the case, gathering any needed information, communicating with the client and advocating for the client if issues persist.

Working at Warnken, LLC is different from Candice’s previous experiences because of the environment. It’s fun and open, everyone likes to chat, and laugh throughout the day. But, she enjoys silence and works best in a quieter environment.

Outside Of Work

Candice has many responsibilities when she is off the clock as well. She acts as a Lead Organizer for a women-only social club in Baltimore serving African-American women between the ages of 20-60, with the objective of meeting new people in the area, forming friendships, and getting out of the house. She’s in charge of everything, from planning the events, to doing the social media, and managing the finances. She loves the social aspect so even though it takes a lot of work and energy, she enjoys doing it.

Other than that Candice likes to cook, read, and watch reality TV. She loves everything when it comes to food, and for books her favorites are mystery, or a good romance. When she gets time to travel her favorite spot is Aruba.
