I know it sounds trite – but every single personal injury case is different.  No two injuries are exactly the same, no two bodies are exactly the same, and no two situations are the same.  The value of a personal injury case depends on numerous factors – the injury, the healing process, time missed from work, the level of permanency of the injury, and whether or not you will ever go back to the same job.  For example, a fractured vertebrae does not mean the same thing in all cases.  Sometimes it means complete paralysis and sometimes it’s a small compression fracture that heals on its own.  The former injury can mean millions, the latter, much less.  It’s important to speak to an experienced personal injury attorney who can walk you through all of the variables.

• Injury: Dislocation and fracture of the left middle finger
• Body Part: Hand
• Amount: $6,250.00
• Claimant was injured after a heavy object fell onto the wrist. Claimant had surgery to repair the damage and was able to return to pre-injury employment.

 

• Injury: Status post left forearm laceration with lacerations of the tendon and muscles
• Body Part: Arm
• Amount: $55,000.00
• Claimant was injured after being cut with an object at work. Claimant underwent surgery to repair the lacerated muscles and tendons. Claimant returned to pre-injury employment.

• Claimant was injured after slipping and twisting while going up stairs at work. Claimant was treated with injections and therapy.

 

• Injury: Metaphysical nondisplaced fracture of the distal phalanx of the thumb
• Body Part: Left hand
• Amount: $9,652.50
• Claimant was injured while arresting a suspect. Claimant was treated with casting and was able to return to pre-injury employment.

• Injury: Superior glenoid labrum lesion
• Amount: $30,870.00
• Claimant felt a “pop” in shoulder while lifting luggage at work. Claimant initially underwent a course of physical therapy and a series of cortisone injections.  When conservative measures failed arthroscopic surgery was performed in the form of a distal clavicle excision, labral debridement, and open biceps tenodesis.  Postoperatively Claimant underwent another course of therapy before being released to work without restriction.

• Injury: Strain
• Amount: $2,640.00
• Claimant injured neck at work lifting heavy luggage. Claimant was evaluated at a medical center where an MRI did not reveal any acute trauma.  Claimant underwent a few sessions of physical therapy.

 

• Body Part:            Leg
• Injury: Fracture
• Amount: $26,325.00
• Claimant slipped and fell at work and sustained a leg injury. X-rays were taken at the emergency room which showed a patella fracture.  Surgery was performed in the form of an open reduction internal fixation of patellar fracture with cannulated screws and wiring. Claimant underwent a course of post-operative physical therapy and subsequently returned to work full duty.

 

• Body Part: Elbow, Shoulder, Wrist
• Injury: Fracture, Strain
• Amount: $35,100.00
• Claimant slipped and fell at work sustaining injury to the elbow, shoulder, and wrist. X-rays revealed a minimally displaced radial neck fracture at the elbow.  Conservative treatment was instituted in the form of immobilization and physical therapy. An Xray and MRI of the wrist was performed but was negative.

• Injury: Plantar Fasciitis
• Amount: $10,000.00
• Claimant injured foot at work while pushing heavy equipment. An MRI of the foot was performed and showed thickening and edema about the central cord of the plantar fascia, as well as tendinosis of the Achilles tendon.  Claimant had two cortisone injections and physical therapy before returning to work full duty.

• Injury: PCL and meniscus tear
• Amount: $33,165.00
• Claimant slipped and feel on ice at work. An MRI was performed which revealed a partial thickness tear of the posterior cruciate ligament and a sprain of the semimembranosus muscle. Claimant underwent surgery in the form of a knee arthroscopy with extensive debridement.  A subsequent fall during post-op rehabilitation resulted in a complex tear of the anterior horn of the lateral meniscus. A second surgery was performed in the form of a partial lateral meniscectomy with extensive debridement.  Additional physical therapy was rendered following the second surgery.

 

• Body Part: Hand, Forearm
• Injury: Disfigurement
• Amount: $3,420.00
• Claimant burned hand and forearm when splattered with hot cooking oil. As a result the Claimant developed permanent scarring.

 

• Body Part: Ankle, Knee
• Injury: Fracture
• Amount: $42,000.00
• Claimant sustained ankle and knee injuries while moving 300lbs of meat on a handcart. An x-ray and MRI were performed which showed a fracture involving the proximal fibular epiphysis and metaphysis, MCL sprain with possible partial thickness tear. Claimant had a cortisone injection and physical therapy.  Surgery was performed in the form of an arthroscopic partial medial meniscectomy. Claimant underwent a course of post-operative physical therapy.

• Amount: $3,000.00
• Claimant was involved in a motor vehicle accident during the course of employment. Claimant was evaluated at an emergency room and later by an orthopedic surgeon.

• Injury: Sprain
• Amount: $12,000.00
• Claimant injured neck, back and shoulders at work when involved in a motor vehicle accident. Claimant was evaluated by the emergency room and subsequently underwent a course of physical therapy.

• Injury: Quadriceps Tendon Rupture
• Amount: $26,325.00
• Claimant slipped and fell on ice at work resulting in a ruptured quad tendon. Claimant was evaluated at the emergency room and referred to an orthopedist. Surgical repair of the ruptured tendon was performed which was followed by a course of post-operative physical therapy.  The Claimant returned to work full duty.

• Injury: Fractured Vertebrae
• Amount: $26,325.00
• Claimant sustained injury in a motor vehicle accident during the course of employment. Xrays performed at the emergency room revealed a fractured vertebrae in the thoracic spinse.  An MRI revealed a T12 compression fracture.  The Claimant treated conservatively with rest and physical therapy before returning to work without restriction.

• Injury: Torn ACL and meniscus
• Amount: $26,754.00
• Claimant was injured after slipping on wet stairs. Physical therapy was instituted. A subsequent MRI revealed a partially torn ACL and meniscus. Surgical repair was then performed in the form of ACL reconstruction with hamstring autograft and partial lateral meniscectomy.  Following post-op PT the Claimant returned to work full duty.
