  • Claimant, while working as a mechanic, sustained injury to the shoulder. Claimant had an MRI performed which showed a SLAP tear, a partial tear within the distal supraspinatus tendon, as well as an anterior and posterior labral tear.  Claimant was treated with medication and physical therapy but elected not to undergo surgery.

  • Claimant slipped and fell working as an equipment mechanic, injuring the third finger and wrist. An MRI of the wrist revealed a high grade TFCC tear. Claimant was treated with splinting, physical therapy, and surgery to repair the tear.

  • Claimant fell into a septic hole while working as a service technician. Claimant was treated with a soft arm cast, splinting, and physical therapy.

  • Claimant had his foot ran over by a dump truck. Claimant was taken by ambulance to the hospital where several surgeries were performed over a several day period.  Claimant had substantial therapy and pain management, in addition to being fitted with a shoe orthotic.  The injury to the foot led to problems in the leg and hip.

  • Claimant sustained a back injury carrying heavy wood at work. Claimant was treated with physical therapy. An MRI was unremarkable.

  • Location: New Jersey (for a Baltimore employer)
  • Claimant’s foot was run over by an automobile resulting in a fracture. Treatment at that time was immobilization in a walking boot.  Claimant subsequently received an injection for pain and could potentially require future surgery as a result of ongoing pain.

  • Claimant was working struck in the face while breaking up a fight between residents. Claimant required a tooth extraction, bone graft, implant and crown placement.

  • Confidential settlement with Uber for Auto collision in an Uber in which client was a passenger.

  • Claimant fell in a hole while walking backwards at work. An MRI of the lumbar spine which showed a dis bulge; an MRI of the thoracic spine showed low grade spondylosis.  Claimant was treated with medication, bracing, physical therapy and pain management injections.

  • Client was working for the University of Maryland as an electrician and sustained a shoulder injury. After his initial permanent disability finding, he underwent a revision surgery and went back for worsening of his permanent partial disability.  After a hearing, the Commission found a 9% worsening for a total permanent partial disability of 27% of the right shoulder

  • Claimant sustained a gunshot wound to the left calf during law enforcement training. The bullet could not be removed and caused nerve impingement.

 

  • Injury: Claimant sustained a head injury, leading to a stroke.  The Claimant’s permanency was reopened, however, Claimant died from unrelated causes during the claim.   Claim was settled posthumously.
